Don't Worry Be Happy 06-28-2026
This powerful message confronts one of the most common struggles we face as believers: the sin of worry. Drawing from Matthew 6:25-34 and Philippians 4:6-7, we're challenged to examine how anxiety paralyzes our faith and prevents us from experiencing God's peace. The sermon distinguishes between worry and concern in a transformative way. When we worry, it controls us, keeping us awake at night, creating stress and anxiety that manifests physically in our bodies. But when we're concerned, we maintain control, we plan, we prepare, and most importantly, we trust God with the outcome. The teaching uses the story of Martha and Mary from Luke 10 to illustrate how we often get distracted by things God hasn't called us to do, then worry about what He has called us to do. We're reminded that worry is essentially telling God we don't trust Him. The message emphasizes that we're caught between two thieves: yesterday and tomorrow. We spend so much energy worrying about what we didn't do yesterday and trying to fix tomorrow that we miss what God wants us to do today. The call is clear: cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us, seek first His kingdom, and watch Him provide everything we need.
