The Root of Fear
Reading: 1 Kings 17:1-7
Devotional: Fear rarely appears without warning. It begins as worry -- a quiet thought about what might happen -- and slowly grows into stress, then dread, and finally paralyzing fear. The pastor reminds us that "the root source is worry." Elijah stood boldly before a king, declared the word of God, and then trusted God completely with the outcome. He did not manufacture a plan. He simply obeyed. Consider the worries you are carrying today. Trace them back to their root. Bring them before God honestly, and ask Him to replace that root of worry with a foundation of trust.
Reflection Question: What worry have you been feeding that has quietly grown into fear?
Practical Application: Write down one specific fear you are carrying. Beneath it, write one truth about God that directly challenges that fear.
